You can rest assured that with us you are in safe hands

The health, safety and well-being of residents, visitors and team members is paramount, and we can assure you that your priorities regarding safety, care, cleanliness, and enjoyment are ours too.

We take this responsibility very seriously and as such, we have implemented robust infection control measures in line with Government and Public Health England and Public Health Wales advice to ensure the safety of everyone who lives and works within our homes.

These measures include:

  • Wearing PPE
  • Regular testing and temperature checking
  • Social distancing
  • Enhanced cleaning
  • COVID-19 training

Staying connected

We also understand the importance of keeping residents connected with their loved ones during this unsettling period. All of our home’s are equipped with iPads to support you to have a weekly video call, we have also installed an app in the majority of homes called Rels App. The app is exclusive to Ravenswing Manor Care Home and allows families and residents to send each other messages, pictures and videos which can be replayed again at a later date.

In terms of activities, despite the challenges faced by Covid-19, our teams are still running a full and engaging activities programme and have introduced innovative ways to keep residents connected with each other to reduce the risk of social isolation. This includes making use of our in-house facilities such as our hairdressers and café’s, coordinating 1-2-1 activities as well as safe, socially-distanced group activities to keep residents occupied and entertained. We have also been encouraging residents to go outdoors as weather allows whilst maintaining the social distancing rule of 2-meters apart. As part of each residents tailored care plan, we are continually monitoring how the policy of social distancing is impacting on resident’s emotional well-being and will provide more support if needed. This can take the form of more 1:1 input or more frequent contact with family and friends via a suitable IT platform.

Visiting a Ravenswing Manor Care Home – what to expect?

We are currently facilitating visits for residents and their loved ones in our homes, where no local restrictions are in place, using special visiting suites with full floor to ceiling glass partitions to ensure residents are kept safe. Visits using these suites can be booked via the care home directly and must be booked in advance.

To book a visit to see your loved one, please contact your General Manager. Please note such visits may be temporarily suspended should local government advice change and upon routine testing we find we have a Covid-19 case within the home. All visits must be booked in advance by appointment and we can only facilitate a certain number of visits per day for a limited duration to allow us time to effectively clean the area in-between visits. All visitors must also complete a health declaration form prior to each visit taking place to ensure their safety and others. Please download our guidance for visitors document below for more information.

For the homes not currently able to facilitate visits due to Government restrictions, our position on routine visiting remains unchanged. We are still closed to visitors including family members and friends.

Please note if there is a situation that requires a non-routine visit in extenuating circumstances such as end of life; your General Manager will work with you to ensure that the appropriate precautionary measures are taken to minimise any potential risks. You can be assured anyone displaying symptoms or any member of their household who is displaying symptoms will not be allowed to enter the home, all visitors’ temperatures will be taken, infection control measures will also be taken, handwashing and the appropriate PPE will be provided, essential medical visits will continue.

Some kind words from relatives

We would like to extend our thanks to all staff members who have cared for dad during his short stays with you. He was always treated with kindness, courtesy and respect with everyone at Ravenswing and he thought very highly of you all and the dedication you show to your work. You really made a difference to the quality of dad’s life in his last months. Thank you for easing and sharing our concerns and reminding us all that there are still lots of you ‘good guys’ out there.
Christine, David, Sue and John
Just to say a very big thank you to all of you at Ravenswing. You did a wonderful job looking after mum and I know she was very happy and content in your care. We will remember your kindness and consideration for a very long time. You should be very proud of your dedication, patience and love you give all your residents. We all miss Charlotte very much but we know she passed away in a place she loved.
David, Lynn and Rebecca
May I take this opportunity to express my grateful thanks to all members of staff, for their many kindnesses, devoted care and attention during my stay at Ravenswing. One can repay, silver or gold but one is forever in debt to those who have been kind.
Renee
My wife and I would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the loving care given to Mary during her final months in your lovely retirement Home. None could ever fault the care and attention given to Mary by your staff and nurses.
Lillian and Raymond
With sincere heartfelt thanks for the love and care to mum during her stay with you. You are all superb and the last 12 months were her happiest and ‘healthiest’ for many years. She made good friends and relied on you all implicitly. I will never forget your kindness and humour, greatly appreciated.
